Does anyone know why some people collect soda can tabs instead of just recycling the whole thing?

And the Yoplait yogurt thing where if you send back the pink yogurt container tops, they donace a certain amount of money to breast cancer research....what's up with the sending back the pink tops part? And why only specially marked pink ones? Sure it's a promotional thing...but if I send back a refular red top...sory, no money gets donated for that one.

But hey...unless you're sending back more than you're spending for the stamp to send them, I think you really might as well just donate the money directly.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Actually, most of the companies that do a "for each thingy bought, we'll donate x dollars" have a "guaranteed minimum donation" which is usually a fair bit higher than they really expect to buy. That way, they don't actually have to count foil lids or whatever, and they just make one lump sum donation. So definitely donate the money yourself, because that way the charity gets the money you send, plus the guaranteed minimum donation.
