Up til recently, my cat ran all over the house. She responded when I called her. She talked to me when I meowed at her. Whined too. She wanted attention constantly. She wasn't afraid of anyone or anything.

Now, she's terrified of everyone. Hides all the time. I can never find her. She won't follow me upstairs. I have to pick her up and take her and she digs her claws into me. If I put her down on the stairs, she turns and runs back down to the first floor. She's scared of everything. If she goes into my room, she finds the one or two places where I have a hard time getting to her and holes up there. If she's in the room when I'm in bed, she stays away from me until I turn off the lights to go to sleep. I don't know what the hell to do. In the last week or two she barely even sits up on top of the computer. This in maybe a month's time. Because every other cat in the house goes after her. I feel like I'm abusing my cat because I won't let her live in my room, the only room in the house that none of the other cats go because my door is always shut.

What the hell am I supposed to do?

Oh, and my neighbors are cranking their stereo. Great.

edit: I might be wrong. I'm starting to think that it's actually just one of Dominic's cats' At least that's the case this morning. Juno won't leave her alone. She's very actively going after Ferarri, looking for her on the third floor a little while ago, now in the second floor bathroom where Ferarri is currently hiding- and Juno just gave Ferarri a cut on the nose a little while ago. It's pretty minor, but it was bleeding. *sigh*

Paperwork from the place where I adopted her says she is. And I've had her for over a year now. This is a recent thing.

My cat gingy is actually going through anxiety herself, after having been sick and being picked on when she had a feeding tube and also from the new cat.

The vet is putting her on prozac to reduce her anxiety, then right before reintegration, putting the other cats on prozac for a short time so they don't attack her. Then tapering everyone off.

I know that sounds weird, but she assured me it works. She has like 11 cats. The point is to break the anxiety cycle. They attack her because she's afraid...and she's afraid because they attack her.

In your case it might be a bit more complicated, because the other cats in the house aren't yours.
