I'm not a Bank Of America customer, but I just got this email and it immediately raised some red flags in my eyes, thought I'd post it here just to alert any BOA customers. I've sent an email to them about it.

Here's the text:

it came from email address secure.mail@bofa.com

ooh, thanks- I just got this e-mail!

I did a double take though cuz my bank does have a name with "Bank" and "America" in it- but that's pretty generic. Think it's American Bank?
Yeah, I can't remember the name of my bank- shows how broke i am LOL.

It's a classic fishing attempt with a spoof email, and has nothing to do with BoA- with whom I do have an account and have been banking with BoA (or more accurately, it's acquired predecessors, Fleet and Norstar) all of my life. These occur with Fifth Third Bank, TransUnion, etc. If you go to snopes.com they'll give you the details. Whatever you do, just delete the emails and don't respond to them. They're designed to look official, but any Bank would contact you via mail for such information, not email.
