So in the last day or so, I suddenly got it in my mind that I had to go and try to look up one of my high school classmates. She wasn't at the reunion- I'd have fallen over of shock if she showed up, she hated our high school with a rather dramatic passion- though I could swear I thought I'd heard someone say she thought Mikayla was living somewhere in the Baltimore area. We weren't superclose friends, actually, we were only really vague acquaintances til towards the end of senior year, and then she was one of the folks that I did a lot of email-swapping with from college and we became pretty good friends for a while. Ironically, we lost touch when I moved back to the east coast. Anyway, she had a LOT of medical problems and was in a wheelchair from junior year of high school on, I forget exactly why. There's no date given, but the summer '06 edition of her college alumni newsletter has a small "in memory" blurb. (And lists her as being from Wilmongton, DE...so, no Baltimore)

Well, that's really sad...
