I don't either, and it's not specific to one computer, or just my account- it happens to me at work and at home, and I know it's happened to Gavin at home too.
have you ever checked the box to always stay logged in? if you do that, it keeps you logged in even after shutting down and rebooting, unless you trash your cookies.
firefox on both computers...it's happened shortly after trashing cache on one or two occasions- I thought of all that stuff, trashed cache, cookies etc. It also used to happen when I was still using IE.
Now and then -- not very often, and some correlation with newsposts tends to make me think that it's linked to tightening of security (in other words, they force your cookie to expire in case it's possible someone else has control).
Do you use the "Bind cookie to IP address" option? Depending on your service provider, that can cause the issue itself.
newsposts- like rss feeds? (i've got a couple of those)
No, I don't use the bind cookie to IP option- I don't keep myself permanently logged in, and, at home at least, I don't think I could do that since I don't have static IP...and even if I did, I log in and out because I share a computer with another Lj user.
