I just talked to Anthony (Youngest brother, living in Oregon)...seems he's heard the Renee's a lesbian rumors *eye roll* I'm supposed to call him tomorrow though, apparently he has to do some stuff tonight, but wants to talk to me.

Uhmmm....er...how are the phonetics? I guess it's more like Reh-nay. Like Renee Zellweger or Rene Russo? Same pronounciation.

lol...thanks. I haven't really thought of it in those terms, because it just hasn't been a big deal to me- I don't know if you caught my previous posts about the whole thing, but it all came about because my father had heard rumors that I was a lesbian from family members whom he refuses to name (I'm not, I'm bi.) and while I didn't really want to discuss it (I practically never speak to him, he's been mostly absent from my life since I was very young) I had no desire to lie about it, and at the time was caught extremely off guard by the conversation and didn't really have the presence of mind to get defensive and tell him it was none of his business like I wanted to. That left me having some issues with my absentee oaf of a father knowing, but my mother who while a little daft in her own right, actually cares about me and has a general clue about what's going on in my life doesn't know this....er, I dunno, call it some bizarre loyalty thing? lol....Teh Crazee. It enver ceases.

Sounds similar to my sitch. My absentee father is in old age home prematurely (some kind of early senescence). When I go to visit him (about once a month), I always feel like I'm betraying the mom who basically gave her life up to get us all through school and college.

I wouldn't go so deep as to call this betrayal (heh...not that there aren't plenty of those issues)...more like, in this case, the balance is a little upset....urg....parents.
