(no subject)

So I've been kicking around for quite some time now some ideas for works of fiction that I would like to try to write...on and off for several months. Earlier this evening I was talking to sannion and the subject of writing fiction came up. I mentioned this one idea that I had, and after a few minutes of talking, a beginning popped into my head which I quickly typed out, and some vague ideas for a main conflict came about.

Unfortunately, I closed the window before retrieving the couple of lines that I wrote, but just a few minutes ago, I popped open notepad and started writing- it's not identical to what I had started out with but I'm liking what I've got so far.

I was thinking of this several months ago as a short story- well, I had a setting and vague premise...no characters yet or conflict but oddly enough some sub-plot ideas. As soon as I realized I had sub-plots it quickly dawned on me that that would make for more than a short story...so depending on how this turns out, I may be staring down the face of a novella or novel.

Well, I've said many a time that I think I'd like to write a book someday. I think I'm gonna give it a whirl.
