Okay, I know that at least one person on my friends list uses Weebly to create a website. Maybe there are more.

Over the weekend, at some point, it stopped working on my computer- basically it takes forever to load- I mean half an hour or more, and it eventually says that there's a plugin missing, but when I try to look for plugins, there are no relevant plugins found, and you can't use the site to edit pages and stuff. This is in Firefox. It works in Internet Explorer. But we don't want to use IE.

I did all the usual troubleshooting stuffs, cleared cache and cookies and all that noise in case that was jamming the works. No dice.

Anyone have similar issues?

I use Weebly and am also a Firefox user.

I have not run into that problem. When I first began building my site in January I noticed from January-March it would take over an hour for pages to publish, but that problem has since been fixed as they did multiple site overhauls. That being said, there were some hiccups over the weekend with pages not loading or taking forever to load, although I didn't get any notices about plug-ins and today Weebly is working OK.

Which version of Firefox are you using? If your Firefox hasn't been updated for awhile that might explain the hiccups re Weebly.

I don't blame you for not wanting to use IE. IE sucks major monkey balls and increases the risk for viruses/worms/malware from other sites.

Anyway, I hope this gets resolved soon! Computer foo can be such a pain in the ass...

Or, conversely, if she just had her FF updated, said plugins may not be compatible, especially if they're using FF3.

Given that, have you ([livejournal.com profile] fuego) looked into alternative browsers? There are several that are based off Mozilla code without several of FF's problems, Flock being the first to come to mind.

2.0.0.18... it didn't updayte all that logn ago, but it's been used between this and that. I've been holding off on jumping to 3 because of a game that Gavin plays that other people have found unplayable after switching. Haven't looked into other browsers yet since this just happened and we havn't had previous problems with firefox.

Perhaps your plug-in got corrupted somehow? I'm going to assume it's probably the Java one. Actually, come to think of it, that may be the problem - Java updated itself and messed things up in FireFox.

Hmm...no I think my java actually needs to be updated. I'll give that a try tomorrow when I'm off work. Didn't even think of that.

*sigh* I do enough of this at work, I hate troubleshooting my own stuff (especially since I don't really know how to troublehsoot windows beyond the basics. Or just plain shooting it. I need a Mac.)
