Where in the hell do so many pagans get the idea that you must be spiritually void or stagnant and incapable of having any sort of real connection to the divine if you are "book smart", a recon (or otherwise not eclectic) and/or actually (oh my gawds!) call it a "religion" instead of a "path"????

Really, I find the idea that because I prefer to get my information from sources not found in the Llewellyn catalog and because I *like* to read academic articles on the gods, history, religion etc, then I must be somehow spiritually stunted to be insulting and presumptuous.

Um, this might be a crazy notion, but there's nothing wrong with finding out as much as possible about what you're worshiping. The religion and the relationship and the studying all go together.
