Off topic, but sometimes if you contact animal shelters they have these kind of mobile chains that specifically transport animals from state to state via volunteers. I saw your poor skills post, and wasn't going to jump into that mess, but after a glance at your profile you seem pretty awesome so I friended you. I also made the trip from Baltimore to Portland three years ago and you are right in the fact you will love it here! Assuming you are moving to the Portland metro I would be more than happy to help you find stuff when you arrive. Point out the good veterinarians, the places to avoid shopping, the best place to watch the sun set, etc and all the other things it's good to know about an area. If you are not moving to the Portland metro, I can still offer a few suggestions based on travel. Or if you think this is weird and are now understandably terrified of people from Oregon I can just go away. Good luck either way!
