badstar: (fixing to do somethgn stupid)
So this morning...(Wednesday morning, that is) after I left work, I was sitting at the train stop. A while ago, I printed out a bunch of my dreams and some other things I'd written about the last year and the crazy Apollo stuff so that I could handwrite it into a journal and have it all in one place that I could access offline and carry around with me as I desired.

I had the book with me, and was copying some of it when some random guy from one of the other places around comes up to me, says hi, bends over and tries to read what I'm writing. I pull it closer to me and tell him that it's personal and that I'd rather not discuss it with someone I don't know.

His response was "I'm a writer too. I like to read other people's stuff, what are you writing about?" I responded again by telling him that I'd prefer not to discuss it, and started shuffling my printouts into my backpack. He looked like he was about to try to pull he book downwards to look at it, and I was going to close the book and smack him with it if he did. But the train was pulling up and thankfully, he didn't get on the same car that I did.

Fucktard. Seriously. As Gavin pointed out when I told her about it earlier, if he was a writer, he should understand when I say that I don't want to discuss my writing. Being a writer does not entitle one to read other people's stuff on demand. Especially total strangers. Oh yeah and hello, violation of personal space.
