How do so many people watch Sex And The City...and enjoy it?

Granted I've only seen a couple of PG-13 TBS edits, But I can't imagine being able to overlook um...what is it about the show? OH YEAH! *Smacks forehead* The characters. Can we say vapid?

Not to mention the fact that acress playing the redhead...what's her name...Miranda? Has what has GOT to be the most annoying face I've ever seen.

Yeeeeeah. If I'm gonna watch TV, I'll take cheesy WB shows any day, thanks.

*shrugs* I like Sex and the City. Granted, it's not fine art, but I enjoy it. It's escapism, I guess. It's fun for me to imagine for 30 minutes what it's like to own a $600 pair of shoes and bone Mr. Big.

Oh man, I can't be friends with you anymore...
I LOVE Sex And The City. It's SO great. And yeah, it's better when it's not all edited out... It's not supposed to be deeply intellectual you know. ;)

*hehe* ok... I'll admit that I do like the show. I've got seasons 1 - 4 on DVD even. Between that and Dawson's Creek, I figure I should have learned as much as I need to know about relationships :)

Oh... as to taking cheesy WB shows anyday -- well, SatC is on The WB latenite anymore :) so it IS a cheesy WB show now

tho -- tell me now why I the Tyra Banks show on UPN is showing how to measure bra size (and doing "bra makeovers")??? (rather, why haven't I changed the channel yet?)

but I mean like, Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, Smallville etc.

I'm basing this on about 2 and 1/4 edited episodes of satc...but that doesn't seem like a very realistic basis for learning about relationships. Of those two, I'd say Dawson's Creek is far more realistic.

The actress that plays Miranda, Cynthia Nixon, graduated 3 years ahead of me from my high school.

That, and Kim Cattrall, are two of the biggest reasons why i like the show so much.

I watched three episodes I downloaded off of bittorrent a year ago, just out of some sick curiosity I guess.

Aside from the fact that it's morally filthy and intellectually vacant, it's not even a funny or make-you-want-to-watch-the-next-episode-interesting show. Kinda reminds me of Ally McBeal, except more worthless (...and how did Lucy Liu make such a dynamic career off of being such an uppity bitch, anyway? /tangent).

...so, in short, I know what you mean. Bah to all TV-watchers, anyway. =\

Ally McBeal at least amused me somewhat. I would have liked it more if not for Ally McBeal herself, she was irritatingly neurotic and just got worse and worse as the series went on. I saw a lot more of that show than I might have otherwise because my parents watched it.

I think she's like that in real life, too. >;->
