I was hit by a car this morning.

Technicality. The vehicle made contact.

So I was on Calvert Street where Federal intersects with it. And there's an SUV there waiting to turn. The driver is looking south towards Mt. Royal and I'm standing on the north side of the intersection, all of maybe 5 feet from the vehicle. The driver turns her head and looks straight at me. I made eye contact and she didn't move. It seemed pretty obvious that she had seen me and since she wasn't moving I stepped off the curb to cross the street and saw that she turned back to look towards Mt Royal. I'd taken all of two steps when she started turning- still looking southward while turning northward. She was moving really slowly thank goodness...I didn't have time to back up and it actually made contact with my torso, so I really quickly put my hands on the hood and pushed off so I kinda backpedaled away a step or two, far enough that I was out of danger of being hit again- managed not to fall, and then took a wide loop around the back of the vehicle. Once I got across the street and was several steps down the block did the driver actually bother to stop moving and yell out the window to ask if I was okay.

Oh My God, you stupid fucking idiot, you're so lucky I am. At the angle the car was coming and how it hit me, if she had actually knocked me down, I would have ended up under the vehicle, not just like, having my toes run over or something. (And I have had my foot run over by a car once.)

It only occurred to me later that I should have gotten her tags and stuff...but what could I have done? No marks, didn't hit me hard enough that there could ever be any potential injuries showing up later, no one around to witness it. I briefly entertained the thought of slashing her tires or keying her doors if I ever see her again, but seriously, I'm not going to do that.

And she didn't use turn signals. Yeah, at the intersection of Calvert and Federal, odds are about 99 to one or better that they're going to be turning right onto Calvert, but there is a driveway directly across the street. So the possibility is there.

I fucking hate people that don't use turn signals. I frequently joke that functional signals must lower the bluebook value in this city or something but seriously. There's not excuse to not use them. Laziness isn't acceptable. All I have to say is, I ever catch anyone I know turning without their signals, I'm gonna hurt you. I'm just gonna haul off and injure you.

Oh yeah, I also came within a few feet of being hit on Gilroy road the other day. Once again, someone not using their signals, starting out going straight and then suddenly turning.

Turn signals are not a novelty. Use the fucking things already.

I dunno what's up with Juno (one of Dominic's cats), she seems to have it in for Ferarri for some reason. Dominic actually put his cats in the bathroom yesterday when he went to work.(Big, third-floor bathroom where they stayed for a while when he first moved in because he thought that his aunt was going to take them after a day or two)

This was prompted the night before when Ferarri decided to sleep with him, and Juno attacked her. Up til then he'd heard us talking about it but never believed it entirely because he'd never seen her do such a thing.

Last night, I retrieved Ferarri from under the kitchen table to bring her upstairs with me. Juno was nearby and as soon as I started up the stairs, she followed me, then followed me into [livejournal.com profile] chironcentaur's room, and then followed me u the stairs (I was holding Ferarri the whole time.) When I put Ferarri in my room and closed to door to go and brush my teeth, Juno laid down just outside my door. When I yelled at her and tried to shoo her out of the way with my toe, she yowled at me. When I came back from brushing my teeth, she was sniffing under my door. She turned around, looked at me, dropped her head and tail for a second, and then looked back up at me and growled.

And I just realized that I might have left Ferarri in my room with the door shut. Oops. She'll just sleep til I get home though.

A couple of days ago I came home and it wasn't til I was ready to go to bed that I went up to my room and found her there. The part that I don't get- I remember very clearly taking her out of the room when I left that morning and her walking down the stairs. Since she'd been there all day, I removed her from the room to go eat, get water, use the litterbox. I closed the door, and felt something furry against my ankle. it was Ferarri. For the life of me I can't figure out how she managed to get back in. I swear on a stack of holy books of your choice that I saw her sitting outside my door as I closed it, and when I turned to check the knob, it was tightly closed.

"There, there."

How did repeating a preposition become a soothing phrase? It makes no sense.

In other news, I just heard that my least favorite person in the office is leaving for a new job.

Uhm, Ew?

They're making a movie based on a Thomas Kinkade painting?

Ug. There's one more movie I won't be seeing.

The measure would award Maryland's 10 electoral votes to the national popular vote winner. The plan would only take effect if states representing a majority of the nation's 538 electoral votes decided to make the same change.

This really doesn't make sense to me.
