I just lost out on this on ebay in the last...literally 10 seconds as I was trying to place a higher bid, the price doubled:

there's a brooch that I want sooo very badly, and I was prepared to spend more on it than I might ordinarily spent on a piece of jewelry - then it QUADRUPLED in price. I just can't bring myself to match it.
