One of the drawbacks to living in a larger city as opposed to one like say, Lancaster is that they are more likely to have professional sports teams.

This would not be so bad if people weren't rabidly obsessed with the local team.

Just in case any of my Loyal Fanbase has been living under a rock, in Baltimore we have the Ravens. In Dallas, there were the Cowboys. Now in Dallas, it was a little bit offset by the fact that the team was actually based in Irving...well outside of Dallas, and not say...right smack in the middle of the city- and only a very short haul from the other humongous tourist attraction (Inner Harbor- you just haven't lived til you've been stuck on Pratt street somewhere between MLK and Fells Point on a game day) as is the case in Baltmore.

Now, I work in an office that's um.....I'd say roughly 85% guys. And for whatever reason, guys seem to be more likely to be football fans than girls. This is not a "battle of the sexes" thing that I'm trying to get int here, this is sheer observation.

In my department, there are quite a few Ravens fans. I hear about the Ravens all the time. These folks are constantly talking about the Ravens...if not the most recent game, then the next upcoming game.

And then this morning in my email inbox, I find a "Purple Friday" email. HR says everyone is supposed to wear purple to work on Friday to "Show our Ravens pride!"

What if we don't have "Ravens Pride"???

Seriously, I could care less.

My half sick state doesn't seem to be improving. I kept Steph and Jesse awake last night as eveidenced by Jesse knocking on my door at 1am with an armload of assorted medications. I took some Robitussin (I would not have taken it if it weren't for the fact that I was keeping the roommates awake, I had to try something.) What did the Robitussin do? I'm actually reasonably certain that it made things worse for a while there. That stuff burns my throat. I set up a note on my cell phone to remind me to get up a bit early this morning so I could go to Rite Aid and grab a bottle of Delsym because that stuff actually does somethign for a cough. And then I only slept maybe 4 hours (probably less)...but I still woke up on time. But then I couldn't find my keys. By the time I remembered that I left them on the table beside the door last night whe I came back from going to XS, it was the normal time that I would be leaving for work and too late to go to Rite Aid. I was at least able to grab a roll of cough drops in the newsstand at the train station and have set myself up with another reminder to grab cough syrup on the way home.

Despite the lack of sleep, I'm surprisingly awake.

Last night I learned that two people trying to use one umbrella is very inconvenient. The rain wasn't that bad, but when trying to avoid having technicolor hair dye run all over the place as both Nicole and I were, umbrellas are good.

Speaking of technicolor hair dye, mine is fading in that cool way that only fuschia hair dye can do into shades of pink and red and with just a teeny bit of orange where it's faded completely away from the very edge of my hairline.

I'm going to go make tea and pray for an offer of early out so I can go home and sleep before going to the Interfaith Fairness Coalition meeting tonight.

Friday is a purple-wearin' Ravens pride day at my office, too. I think I'll wear a pink triangle t-shirt and claim to have misread it.

Ah, so that's what all that moving around was last night. I was wondering why it sounded like everyone in the house was up at two a.m.
