Well, the nose remains stuffy and all that. I blew through a full 200-count box of tissues yesterday all by my little lonesome (And I mean literally from first tissue to last tissue. Plus part of another box. Impressive, huh?)

So I went to the store today to grab something medicationwise ...unfortunately forgot to take along people's recommendations with me and when I tried to get a pharmacist's/pharmacy tech's attention to ask for help, four of them completely ignored me for several minutes- not so much as a "We'll be with you in a minute"- there wasn't a crowd of customer's- there was precisely one person sitting there, and I was standing in arm's reach of two of them, I'm pretty sure they heard me trying to speak to them too- and one of them stood there staring right at me (or was that through me?) for about a minute *sigh* I spoke to the manager, who didn't really seem to give much of a damn either. I ended up reading boxes and picked out the Tylenol Cold head congestion day/night combination pack. The nighttime stuff is the same as the day, with the addition of containing an antihistamine to help runny noses.

So far I've taken two doses of the day stuff...I'm not entirely impressed. As usual, if I'm standing up, my nose is clear...after taking the medicine, once I sit down again it takes a bit longer to get stuffed again. The cough suppressant is...eh. a bit more effective than nothing, but only marginally. The night stuff is also supposed to deal with runny noses- has an antihistamine.

I'm a little nervous about taking somethign with an antihistamine though...I only remembered this evening that weird reactions to antihistamines run in the family. Nothing dangerous, but really irritaing stuff, like if my mom takes one, it either knocks her out for about 24 hours, or knocks her out for a few hours and then screws with her nervous system so that she feels like her entire body is on pins and needles for hours. I don't think I'd complain right now about sleeping for 24 hours, but the pins and needles thing I couldn't deal with. I've taken antihistamines in the past but it's been years. I can't remember the last time. And weird reactions can pop up at any time.

Random thought: [livejournal.com profile] pagandenma At the Giant near your house, do they still sell Island Rose teas, specifically the strawberry vanilla kind? I used to buy it when I lived oner there and haven't been able to find it anywhere since (Including other Giant stores) and on the few occasions I've been there, I've forgotten to look. And I want some. If you can check the next time you're there and let me know, I might have to give you the money to snag a box or two for me if you don't mind.

Oooh, it's after 10...I can take the night medicine now. Though I might wait a bit longer before doing that.

Then again, the idea of sleep is mighty attractive. Everyone pray for me that I don't have such deeply intellectual dreams tonight as last night? That really didn't make for very good resting. on top of everything else.

Well, I took it...and power of suggestion is already making me sleepy.

Night.
