For anyone reading this who uses Doc Bronner's castille soap, or who doesn't...

The stuff rocks. Really, it does. It's non-toxic, environmentally good, gets stuff clean, comes in a variety of scents. You can use it to clean pretty much any surface that you can throw water on. Use it to wash your body, your hair, produce, it cuts bathtub ring like no one's business and apparently it's really good for stains as I found out last night.

So our second floor is covered in off-white carpeting. Last night, Gavin and I were eating some Ciao Bella Blackberry-Cabernet sorbetto...half-melted, some of it inadvertently ended up on the floor. Um, oops.

soaked what could be soaked up with paper towels and poured plenty of water on it, and at best thought I could grab some club soda today (It was two in the morning when this happened) and resigned myself to the idea that there would be a stain on the carpet. Gavin suggested trying some of the Doc Bronner's stuff because I'm always saying how great it is.

Poured a bit of the stuff on the stain, worked it into the carpet, and within seconds (yes, seconds) you never would have known that there had just been a huge purple stain there.

I'm talking about a mark made by a big clump of pureed blackberries and cabernet wine (that's pretty much all this stuff is), so you can imagine the color I'm talking about. There isn't even a vague pink hint of stain. I'm really impressed.

When I first read this I thought you were about to talk about something you'd use to fix a Crackberry you'd spilled something on. :P
