Amusing, short bit about runes and "Viking graffiti"

http://www.viking.no/e/heritage/eruner.htm

It doesn't give references for its information, so I can't speak of its authenticity, but it is amusing.

graffiti is eternal :) they've even found Roman graffiti in Egypt and the Middle East so I expect that Viking graffiti is not that far-fetched of an idea. Just wait for them to find Celtic graffiti...

The "Gyda says come home" one reminds me of the story behind the name of an Irish tune. The story goes that the fiddler at a pub session was handed a note from the bartender. His wife had just called to tell him to come home. He shouted his answer and then played a tune (http://audio.cdbaby.com/c1418c63/mp3lofi/f/o/fourleafpeat-07.mp3), and most people thought he was shouting the name of the tune, and the name stuck. The name? "Tell Her I Am".
